Welcome to Tonogai Dental Arts
Dr. James Tonogai was born and raised in Hamilton, and is proud to be able to give back to the hardworking people of our city by providing for their dental care needs. Located in the downtown core, at 105 Main Street West in the heart of the city, Dr. Tonogai is excited to be opening his own office to treat the people of his community. After graduating from Sherwood Secondary School in Hamilton in 2009, Dr. Tonogai went on to study at the University of Western Ontario where he attended the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, obtaining his DDS dental degree in 2015.
Following graduation, he entered private practice as an associate for 3 years before returning to school at the University of Toronto to pursue graduate level training in prosthodontics which he completed in 2021 with an MSc in Prosthodontics. Dr. Tonogai also obtained his FRCD(C) fellowship degree with the Royal College of Dentists in 2021.
When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Tonogai enjoys racquet sports, windsurfing, and chess. Dr. Tonogai is currently the president of the Hamilton Academy of Dentistry (HAD).
